New Seven Wonders

Initiative began in 2001 with the Swiss company, the world's New7Wonders Foundation to choose New7Wonders from a selection of 200 existing monuments. Twenty one finalists were announced, as the only surviving original wonder 1 January 2006 Egyptians were not happy, the Great Pyramid of Giza, would have to compete with a similar statue Liberty, the Sydney Opera House, and other terms, calling the project absurd. In response, Giza was named an honorary Candidate. Results were announced on July 7, 2007 in Lisbon, Portugal.

1) Taj Mahal
Everyone knows the story of Taj Mahal. It is an icon of love. The Taj Mahal is located at Agra in India. One of the great Moghul Emperors Shah Jahan built it for his beloved wife Momotaj. Its construction was began in 1632 and completed in approximately 1648. Twenty thousand laborers work twenty two yours to built Taj Mahal. Master Isha is the architect of this building.
The Taj Mahal is made of the finest white marble and the whole structure is richly decorated. It is regarded as the most beautiful jewel of Muslim art of India. 


2) The Great Wall of China 
The Great Wall is the world's longest human made structure. Then, about 6400 kilometers from Shanhai Pass in the east to Lop Nur in the west of China, along an arc that roughly describes the southern edge of Inner Mongolia is also the largest man has ever built in terms of space and mass.The Wall has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1986. 

3) The statue of Christ the Redeemer in Rio de Janeiro 
Christ the Redeemer is a statue of Jesus Christ in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. The statue stands 32 meters high, weighs 700 tons and is 700 meters to the peak of Corcovado mountain in the Tijuca Forest National Park, overlooking the city.As well as a powerful symbol of Christianity, the statue has become an icon of Rio and Brazil. 

4) The Inca ruins of Machu Picchu 
Machu Picchu, a pre-Columbian city of the Incas is made, above the Urubamba Valley in Peru, about 70 km northwest of Cusco. Forgotten for centuries by the outside world, but not by locals, it was back to international attention by archaeologist Hiram Bingham brought in 1911, who wrote the first scientific confirmation of the site and a best-selling work on. 

5) The ancient Mayan city of Chichen Itza in Mexico
Chichen Itza is a large pre-Columbian archaeological site of the Maya civilization, built in the north of the Yucatan Peninsula, the current Mexico.The Maya name Chichen Itza means "At the mouth of the well of the Itza". Although this is the common name for the site in pre-Columbian America, is also mentioned in ancient chronicles Uucyabnal what "seven great rulers." 

6) The pink ruins of Petra in Jordan 
Petra is an archaeological site in Jordan, is located in a valley between the mountains, the eastern side of the plain (Wadi Araba), the large valley running from the Dead Sea to the Gulf of Aqaba to form. E 'famous for stone structures that seem carved in stone. The long-hidden site was revealed to the Western world by the Swiss explorer Johann Ludwig Burckhardt in 1812.Today, the Palace Tombs of Petra, with the 42 meters high Hellenistic temple facade on the El-Deir Monastery, are impressive examples of Middle Eastern culture. 

7) The Colosseum in Rome 
The Colosseum, originally known as the Flavian Amphitheatre, is a giant amphitheater in the center of Rome, Italy. Originally a capacity of 50,000 spectators, it was used for gladiatorial contests and public spectacles. The amphitheater, the largest ever built in the Roman Empire, was completed in 80 AD under Titus, with further modifications during the reign of Domitian is done.The new seven wonders of the world, the Taj Mahal in India, the Great Wall of China, Christ the Redeemer statue in Rio de Janeiro, the Inca ruins of Machu Picchu, the ancient Mayan city of Chichen Itza in Mexico, pink ruins of Petra in Jordan and the Colosseum in Rome.
